Hackers Attacked Telecom Argentina And Demanding $7.5M In Monero (XMR)

Telecom Argentina telecommunications company suffered a ransomware attack in which hackers are demanding payment of $ 7.5 million in Monero (XMR) to return the hijacked data. The attack has started 72 hours ago, but the incident was reported on social networks on the night of this Saturday, July 18.

Telecom employees reported that since last Wednesday they had difficulties accessing the company's VPN and the database. Preliminary estimates indicate that at least 18,000 teams would be affected by the attack.
